CaGBC Releases LEED Canada for Homes

Last week, the Canadian Green Building Council released its Canada-specific version of USGBC's LEED for Homes Rating System. LEED Canada for Homes maintains the techincal rigor of the U.S. version, while customizing some credits and thresholds to address the uniqueness of the Candian marketplace. One notable addition is a third compliance path to Energy and Atmosphere credit 1, which allows projects to use the Canadia-specific ERS performance testing process in place of the U.S. HERS system.

New Homes Providers Off and Running

USGBC's newly selected crop of LEED for Homes Provider organizations attended a two-day training in D.C. late last month, boning up on quality assurance requirements, documentation rules, and other details of the LEED for Homes delivery model. This brings the ranks of U.S.-based Provider organizations to 38, more than three times the number of active Providers just one year ago.
